Artist’s Statement

COVID-19 has seen many tables in family homes covered by work and papers, coffee tables consumed by puzzles and leisure activities and every room becoming a ‘zoom room.’ My multi-function table allows people to use the day-to-day tabletop and reduce clutter by using interchangeable tabletops. These different tabletops can house several ‘works in progress’ puzzles or games that can be fitted into the tabletop when needed and then stored away with ease until next time. I have manufactured my multi-purpose table with ergonomic and user-friendly features in mind. I have addressed the aesthetics qualities in the design by using contrasting timber colours to create visual appeal.
