“Memory Through Motion”

Form: Collection of Works

Artist’s Statement

Memory Through Motion explores the connection between memories and the way they distort with time. Film can merely capture their true essence.

Reminiscences from my childhood found on home videos of a holiday to the Kiama Blowhole are reimagined using animation and oil painting.

The rolling of film reflects the undulating water but unlike the continuous motion of the waves, we can stop a film and consider if our emotional perceptions are a true account of our memories.
