Artist’s Statement

My project intends to help households save money through better and more efficient use of alternative power opportunities. I was able to explore my passion and gain a better understanding of electronics and design. The force created by pedalling a bicycle has inbuilt electronics to harvest electricity gained from the pressure of the pedalling action. Idealistically it could be commercially marketed in two ways; in developed countries, as a safety measure when cycling by lighting the back of the pedal to create awareness for others, in developing countries as an energy source. To improve their quality of life by providing light without the need for externally sourced natural resources.
