“Down, Down, Down, Red, Yellow, Brown”

Expressive Form: Sculpture

Artist’s Statement

A three-dimensional soft sculpture represents a transition to autumn.

The sculpture is also a metaphor for the imminent end of a significant stage of my schooling.  The colours of the leaves and the gesture of the branches leaning towards the base suggest reflection and possible reincarnation.

The four kalpas of Buddhism “being”, “living”, “breaking” and “empty” flow through this work.
