“Calm After the Storm”

Form: Ceramics

Artist’s Statement

Calm After the Storm explores how civilisation can fall into chaos because of natural events or the activity of mankind.  However there is always a period of calm after upheaval.

As vessels are often the only remnants we have of ancient civilisations, they hold memories of culture and traditions.  The tumbling stacks of vessels creates a tension that reflects the cyclical nature of human experience and serves as a reminder that even in times of distress, calm lies ahead.
