Artist’s Statement
The item I will design and make is a cabinet that can be used easily to store objects, heirlooms and essentials. When making this dresser, I have to make sure that I am learning new techniques and furthering my knowledge of the design process and machinery. The look of the dresser will have painted designs relating back to my family heritage on it to make it personal and unique. The intended use is for my family to use it as a standard piece of furniture and there are a variety of different types of materials I can use to create it.
