Artist’s Statement

What is our perception of perfection? 

Pain, unwanted and unavoidable.  As humans we go to great lengths in order to avoid feeling it, yet it is so often overlooked as part of the process in achieving our desires.

Drawing upon Michelangelo’s pursuit to create the image of the perfect man, The Agony in Ecstasy explores the masculine physique, flawless figures yet scared with intentional inflictions.
